Again, sorry for the cross posting and posts to event that aren't about the
event (if you want to yell at me, look for the idiot trying to keep up with
the MAFB caravan in a 4 banger cavalier)

Anyhow, I was lead to believe, and I'm hoping someone can verify this, that
the LS1 "hd" trucks are sold with 4l80Es in them.
I was also lead to believe that the 4l80E has the same bolt pattern as a
th400.

ASSuming both of those statements are accurate, then somewhere at GM, I
should be able to find a stock flexplate that will bolt to an LS1, have the
offset the starter on the ls1 needs and still bolt right up to the 400 AND
"might" even be made stronger since its a truck part? Unless of course the
trucks don't have this offset like the f-bodies have BUT I would think they
do since its the same motor/trans. Does anyone have a PN for a truck
flexplate, I wonder if it's the same as the pn I have?

Just a thought, good idea JC :)

P.S. - DPE was a little slow today, 5.5 hours on a removal (sorry, lunch
break and then had to wait for help cause I didn't want to drop a trans on
my head) but for anyone who will need a 400/gv install on a car they only
plan to drive 2 or 3 miles, swing by, I'm a pro at this now ;-)
