On the stock 4l60e shifter, there are 6 pins on the connector for the
shifter, A-F, when AB are jumped, the power hatch works, when EF are jumped
the switch is in park. When CD (brown and light green wires/pins) are
jumped, the reverse lights come on.

BUT and there always is a BUTT when I'm around - apparently you can not have
the car in park (ie I had my hammer shifter in park so the switch on the
shifter was closed (jumping EF)) and then jump CD for the reverse lights (I
was testing to make sure jumping those two would make the lights come on) or
fuses will start to blow and more than one at a time, I now know this from
experience.

SO reverse lights with a 400 and Hammer shifter is actually REALLY easy when
coming from a 4l60E just make sure that you don't jump EF and CD at the same
time. I guess something gets power from two sources or something strange
happens, the hell do I know. I was losing the Turn B/U 20A fuse in the
interior fuse panel and also the ?tail lamps? fuse and which ever the 1amp
fuse is. FWIW - leaving AB jumped while either of the other two are jumped
did not seem to cause any problems. In fact, I may go ahead and hardwire
that one together.

I was also able to fix two of SES lights for the cooling fan problem (and
even get the cooling fans to work) by replacing a broken bigly 40A fuse in
the engine fuse box SO I think I'm ready to start driving it once I get the
insurance papers and all here (Tuesday)

Next things to get done are the welding on the BMR rear sway bar and getting
the oil temp sensor installed. So long as nothing breaks, I think I'll make
it to Memphis without either of those items if I don't have time to get them
done. I was able to make a BMR DS Loop work with the GV so I also have a
working/proper fit DSL in place
