Berg, I'd of just replied privatly but I'm sure lots of people with brokeass
4l60es would have the same questions :) What's sad is now I have to add it
all up :(

Well, I don't know where to start, ah lets try the Jegs receipts :)
+20.99 Energy Suspension trans-mount
+199.99 B&M Hammer Shifter
+57.99 Lokar Dipstick
+6.99 for shipping
+265.99 - Vigilanti converter from my 4L60E converted over to a 400
converter and stall changed (shipped)
+104.96 BMR trans crossmember (I get a "special deal" :/ still seems a bit
much still but NICE piece)
+105.00 VSS/reluctor ring from Wayne shipped to transking (I think wayne's
cost was $93 and I just wrote him a check for the extra since I made him go
pickup the parts and ship them)
+15.99X2 Trans Temp Sensor & Oil Temp Sensor
+39.99x2 Oil Temp Gauge & Trans Temp Gauge
+54.99 Lotek guage pod
+100 Autometer pro shift light / 6K pill kit (shit the way I can't drive, I
should have gotten 5s ;-)
+1538.82 TH400, tranz-brake, full manual, reverse pattern, JW Ultrabell,
deep alum pan, temp sensor in pan, vss/reluctor in place

Total so far: $2566.69 (or two months worth of 4L60e rebuilds during racing
season :/ )

Still need:
500? Driveshaft
2195 + 40 - Gear vendor
trans fluid (I heard its something silly crazy like 11 quarts to fill this
thing??)

Total when I'm this far (two weeks) : $5301.69 (a years worth of 4L60E
rebuilds minus the headaches of pulling the trans and getting a tow) I
somehow think this was still the right way to go over just rebuilding the
4L60E. I know at least one person will disagree BUT I should have consistant
shifts, no breakage, no slipping, NO HEADACHES, NO WORRIES... KNOCK KNOCK
KNOCK on wood. I spend the little time between getting the cam back in and
when the trans finally broke just waiting for the thing to completely let go
and not being able to drive it anyhow. with a $1200 quote from deltrans to
fix it before dealing with the converter and full well expecting the 3
rebuilds it takes before giving up, I'm far ahead of the game IMO but maybe
I'm just a crack junky, x-pushing idiot.

Other stuff:
a maybe:
$35 - Hammer shifter handle with button (run the brake or gv from it?)

stuff I have already
- BMR torque arm. If you have a torque arm that mounts to the trans, you'll
need one that mounts somewhere else.
- B&M 24,000gvw trans cooler
- steel line/fittings for the cooler lines
- the converter (I just needed the upgrade)
- wiring for the guages

stuff in question I was hoping "someone" will answer:
- does the bmr torque arm even fit with the GV in there?
- does the LT1 "trans tricker" work with the LS1 or should I pay Ed Wrong
75$s to "fix" it?
- am I about to have clearance problems with that pan? should have thought
of that first, the SFCs hang really low, can't imagine the pan being lower?

I think that covers everything in detail. I also picked up a BMR drag race
sway bar, longer wheel studs, and skinnies over the winter. I need to learn
to weld (have a mig welder here) or find someone local (andris?) who
wouldn't mind swinging by one weekend with a better welder and helping me
out?

I'll also take this oportunity to say that so far my dealings with
Trans-King have been _GREAT_ I ordered the trans after bothering them
Hogan-style for a month, they started building the trans the day I ordered
BEFORE I even sent them a check. (Wednesday when I ordered) I mailed them a
check Saturday morning and Wayne mailed the VSS/reluctor to them for me
somewhere in that time frame. (thanks again wayne) THEY CALED ME MONDAY to
ask where the parts I was sending were and to tell me they have everything
else together. I called them tuesday and they had my check and the parts
wayne sent. I mailed the temp sensor on monday morning and they called me
thursday to say it was in and the trans was in transit. It showed up at my
office (they don't ship residential appearantly) today ready to rock and
roll. If it works as well as their service has been, I'll be one happy mofo.
For reference, Art Carr quoted me 1800 WITHOUT the converter stuff and
without the ultra bell. I didn't opt for the 400$ 2.75 first gear - it might
be something for someone with more money than me to look into :)

I'll also say thanks to all of the people who I have pestered repeatedly for
information over and over again as a lump and you'll all know who you are,
so thanks again. I'm _ALMOST_ there, a few more weeks of stupid questions
and bleeding knuckles and I should be ready to register the car again, get
some insurance and go for a late night cruise to pick on the ricers and cook
some rubber :-) I think I'll be getting the plates "THEBATA" when I register
as Wayne's name for my car seems to be a good one :)
