It's not YOUR fault you're fat, I believe you.
Did I just say fat? Yes. I know, "they" would say "overweight" or some other "PC" word, but let us call it what it is, fat. I was fat for a long time, until I was 20 years old even. I then decided to take control of my eating habits and exercise schedule, lost over 100 pounds, and have maintained a healthy lifestyle for the past 6 plus years. The key to my success? I stopped listening to the "experts" in government.

Think back to before 1990 when the FDA starting requiring "nutritional facts" on all foods. Were Americans so fat? Maybe we were fat, but this fat? The "news" says Americans are fatter now than ever, and we're not getting any leaner, so does the Nutrition Labeling and Education Act work? I don't think the act working and certainly based on the data presented it isn't working. So what did we pay for, and why do we as consumers continue to incur the costs associated with the NLEA?

Long before "the experts in government" started telling you what to eat, how much to eat, and to drink 500 gallons of water all day long, Americans weren't so fat. So I suggest a new concept, let's throw out the government intervention, and "experts", who tell us what to eat and drink and how much to eat and drink and start a new trend. I propose this: eat when you're hungry, stop eating when you're full; drink when you're thirsty, stop drinking when you're not thirsty. Remember, we humans are just like every other dumb animal on the Earth. Other animals, including early humans, didn't have a 52oz Weight Watchers water jug on them at all times, or bottle of spring water. When other animals, including early humans, were thirsty, they would take the novel approach of standing up, walking (or running) to a water source, drinking until they weren't thirsty, and returning to whatever place they called home. Now granted, humans today live much longer than early humans, in better conditions, but we are still just animals like we were thousands of years ago. Running water, sanitary sewage, freezers and ovens have made prepare, storing, accessing and disposing of food more convenient, but our basic needs as animals are still the same. Again, we, like every other animal on the planet, shouldn't have, and don't need, a government, or any "experts" telling us what to eat and what to drink or when to eat and when to drink, some application of common sense would go a long way in maintaining your own health. This of course not to mention that I'm sure that if you figure out what your tax contributions to the FDA, USDA, CPSC or other related federal agencies are, you could probably afford much better quality foods, and maybe a gym membership as well. You don't need to have the government, or any other "experts" tell you what to eat and drink, just follow your basic instincts as an animal, and don't buy into "humans have no instincts" line you might have heard, I've personally seen, and heard, a baby cry because he or she is hungry, indeed a very basic and primitive instinct, one that you have as well if you just stop letting the government operate as a dietician.
